Some quick hits on this, the 43rd annual celebration of my birth.
1. I woke up to the sound of Ursula throwing up.
2. Followed by the sound of dogs barking hysterically at the garbage men.
3. Followed by the crash of breaking ceramics as the dog had leapt at the window and knocked down my recipe holder.
4. Wash. Rinse. Repeat. Blech. Bark. Crash. Oh happy day.
5. The girl child's tummy settled down long enough to crawl into my bed, take over the heating pad, covers and pillow. Once settled she mumbled, "Happy Birthday, Momma. There is something poking my back.". She rolled over enough so I could find the card she had for me. Sweet sick girl.
6. Went to the office and after a record short staff meeting the staff and two of my best volunteers went to lunch at Buca Di Beppo. There was great joy in the Pope Room as we feasted.
7. I was home by 1:30 in the afternoon and in my pajamas by 1:45. The girl and I napped all afternoon.
8. We had nice quiet dinner from the slow cooker and the girl child is back to 100% this evening.
9. My day was buoyed along by the calls and notes on Facebook from friends and actual people I know.
10. I am eating jelly beans and having happy memories of enjoying this treat with my Grama.
11. I am blessed.
Be God's!

PS. Thank you, Mommy, for all that hard work 44 years ago! nlm
